Project Engineer

The Project Engineer plays a vital role in supporting the successful delivery of complex, multi-million-dollar commercial construction projects. As a key member of the project team, the Project Engineer works directly under the guidance of Project Managers, gaining exposure to every stage of the project lifecycle. This role serves as a training ground for future Project Managers, offering hands-on experience in both the technical and management aspects of construction.

This position requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment. Project Engineers collaborate with subcontractors, vendors, design teams, and internal departments, gaining invaluable experience in coordination and problem-solving. The role is ideal for individuals who are eager to build a career in construction management, as it provides a clear pathway to advancement into a Project Manager position.

Position Responsibilities

  • Ensure timely procurement and delivery of materials to jobsite by working with purchasing department.

  • Assist Project Managers with RFI’s, Material Submittals, Change Orders, Scheduling, estimating, or any other tasks needed. 

  • Regular dialogue with labor superintendents, project foremen and office staff.

  • Build long-term customer relationships by consistently meeting expectations and offering innovative solutions.

  • Provide consistent feedback and reports to Project Managers.

  • Additional duties as determined by Project Managers.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong interest in Electrical contracting, project management (assistant management).

  • Internship and/or experience with an Electrical Contractor preferred.

  • General understanding of architectural, structural drawings (Mechanical & Electrical)

  • Drafting skills with Revit experience a plus.

  • Degree in Construction Management, Construction Technology, Electrical Engineering highly preferred.

  • Electrical field experience is a plus.

  • Excellent verbal and written skills.

  • Ability to work independently as well as in team environment.

  • Familiarity with Accubid estimating system or similar systems.
