Jr. Estimator

Estimating is a critical part of the electrical construction process. A Junior Estimator supports this effort by gathering, calculating, and compiling data used in bid proposal estimates across one or more disciplines. This role provides defined estimating services on projects ranging from small assignments to large, complex work.

Accurate estimation is essential to ensuring SASCO’s competitiveness, profitability, and continued growth. Candidates for this position should bring relevant experience in the electrical industry, along with the initiative, focus, and commitment required to uphold SASCO’s standard of excellence.

Position Responsibilities

  • Calculate various statistical data - quantity take-offs, material price lists, labor costs per man hour, equipment, etc.

  • Participate in developing project update and bid package estimate documents.

  • Maintain files of working documents for back-up to estimating figures.

  • Assist in the entry of take-off into a computerized estimating software system.

  • Perform additional assignments per supervisor's direction.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction or related field.

  • Electrical contracting and estimating experience are a plus.

  • Electrical field experience is a plus.

  • Estimating software experience with Accubid, McCormick, ConEST, EBM required. Accubid is a plus.

  • The candidate shall possess strong verbal and written communication skills, shall be energetic and a self-starter.

  • Basic computer skills (i.e.: Word, Excel, and Internet).

  • The successful candidate shall have raw intelligence, a willingness to learn, tenacity, strong organizational skills and excellent work habits.

  • Ability to work independently
