Network Engineer

Responsibilities:

Designs, configures, and coordinates the installation of new remote office or jobsite routers, switches, and circuits
-
Configure and maintain all network hardware, systems and review and apply appropriate firmware updates.

Design, implement operate on data center network, and network security architecture.

Troubleshoot TCP/IP, VPN/IPsec technologies and IP routing issues

Create and edit network drawings using the Microsoft VISIO application, Cisco Firewalls lifecycle management - design, config, code upgrades, ACL management

Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for all implemented networks.

Monitor performance of all LAN, WAN and Internet connections, identify issues and report to them to the Platform Team.

Remote site circuit ordering/ installations and Cisco AnyConnect & peer-to-peer VPN monitoring.

Assess need for any system reconfigurations and create written proposals for review.

Implement and maintain policies, procedures, and associated training plans for network administration.

As a member of the IT department team, participate in testing per Electek standards of desktop, server, and other network technology.

1st tier support & troubleshooting for any network related desktop, video, VoIP issues.

Perform other duties as directed by the Director of IT.
Preferred Job Requirements:
-
College diploma or university degree in the field of computer science or information systems and/or 5 years equivalent work experience.

Routing/switching (Cisco) installation and configuration
-
Minimum Cisco CCNA or working toward CCNP certification is strongly recommended.
-
In depth knowledge of EIGRP, OSPF, BGP routing protocols, including troubleshooting layer-2 and Layer-3 data network problems
-
QoS configuration experience in a VoIP/video environment required. Experience in a Mitel environment a plus.
-
Must have specific experience configuring and troubleshooting Cisco Firepower, AnyConnect, and Cisco VPN concentrators.
-
Experience in current network monitoring and troubleshooting techniques, including Cisco NetFlow, SNMP/RMON monitoring tools, packet sniffing, protocol analysis and bandwidth utilization.

Working technical knowledge of current systems software, protocols, and standards, including TCP/IP, DNS, WINS and DHCP in a MS Windows environment.

Experience with telecommunications carriers for maintaining and troubleshooting Internet/WAN circuits.

Disaster recovery and fault tolerance engineering experience.

Summary
We are looking for an experienced IT director with hands-on experience to oversee all IT operations in our organization and provide direction and support for IT solutions that enhance mission-critical business operations. You'll be responsible for managing employees within the IT department, liaising with other departments to ascertain their technological requirements, including external IT vendors and service providers, and developing solutions aligned with the organization's objectives.
IT Director Responsibilities:

Overseeing all IT operations leads the development and implementation processes for the organization's IT infrastructure, systems, and department.

Subject matter expert of inertia enterprise platform built on a monolithic architecture. Access technology state by formulating digital modernization of culture and processes

Develops and implements business continuity protocols to minimize disruption to critical business operations in the event of emergencies or data loss.

Establishes efficiency and efficacy standards, providing recommendations for improvement of IT infrastructure. Re-alignment requirements associated with implementing cloud services product set and network infrastructure (SaaS, IaaS, PaaS).

Excellent understanding and technical knowledge of network and client operating systems, hardware, protocols, and standards, such as Windows OS, cloud platforms like O365, Azure/AWS, and standard desktop productivity software solutions.

Analyzes IT infrastructure and systems performance to assess operating costs, productivity levels, upgrade requirements, and other metrics and needs.

Oversee IT network and systems security. Facilitates security audits by identifying vulnerabilities, the need for upgrades, and opportunities for improvement.

Develop and implement ITIL best practices adhering to regulatory and CA Compliance. Provide strategies for simplifying the data framework.

IT Director Requirements:

A bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field is preferred.

At least ten years of management experience in an IT environment.

Sound, hands-on working knowledge of IT operations, systems, and developments.
