SASCO cares greatly about safety and health. We strive to provide a safe work environment free of personal injury and property damage.

Our commitment to safety historically resulted in injuries and illnesses that were well below industry norms. Unfortunately, while our commitment never wavered, we did not realize the same results during the construction boom of 1998-2001. During this period, temporary employment rolls swelled. Accident rates among these temporary employees far exceeded rates among our regular, long-term employees.

Efforts to correct the safety situation at SASCO have been both aggressive and extraordinary as evidence by the improved injury, lost day, restricted day rates, and subsequent reduction in our EMR.

SASCO, as well as our insurer, broker, and safety consultants are confident that effective SASCO safety programs are in place and are being uncompromisingly executed. These programs contribute to a dramatically safer work environment.
