MANAGEMENT OF QUALITY
Quality control begins with quality people. This is the backbone of our philosophy. Detailed planning allows us to match the right talent to the individual task. SASCO utilizes only the most highly skilled craftsmen for its field construction and all our field construction personnel are licensed union tradesmen. The performance of our people in the field is regularly evaluated. Those that do not measure up to the high SASCO standard are replaced. Those who remain are chosen because of their skill and knowledge. We then further supplement that and train them in "The SASCO Way", enhancing their skills and abilities, allowing us to be one of the most productive contractors in the business. We promote from within because it is essential for our key field personal to understand the construction process from the ground up. No other contractor evaluates field resources, as does SASCO.

The accountability for quality assurance is clearly defined, first to the Project Managers through the field foreman ultimately to the individual workman in the field. Each works in conjunction with the other to ensure that quality is maintained. Field superintendents continually evaluate field performance on multiple sites against pre-determined standards, constantly comparing the projects against the standards to make certain that consistency is maintained.

The SASCO culture believes in active participation and understanding from our field personnel. Our field is an active participant in the "Work Breakdown Structure Approach" and understands and supports its intent and purpose. Our experience has shown that in order to consistently maintain high quality work the involvement of our field personnel ensures success. When problems arise in the field, we strengthen and encourage active participation and involvement to resolve issues. Working as a team enables full implementation of our management goals.

Material management is another key item to success, and our warehouse facilities give us a unique advantage. Materials, which may include switchgear, lighting fixtures, and specialty equipment, are received and itemized immediately upon delivery at the warehouse and are inspected. This is the first step in our quality control program and catches problems before they get delivered to the job site. A unique system of classification and storage is then used. Once the product is received, the Project Manager knows exactly where the material is. This system also allows easy verification and inspection from the owner for stored material purposes. Our next step, if applicable, involves prefabrication of materials, which is done in our manufacturing warehouse environment. This would involve unpacking items; sub-assemblies are put on pallets along with other materials for the task, shrink wrapped, labeled, and then delivered to the site for a "just-in-time" installation. Items are generally arranged and staged for delivery to specific floors and rooms. This allows us to properly schedule deliveries according to the construction schedule rather than our vendors' delivery schedules and ensures all components are accounted for prior to installation.
